Acceptable Use Policy
Effective date: <<YYYY-MM-DD>>
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") applies to everyone who accesses or uses
the ArmorY platform at <<https://armory.example.com>> (the "Platform"),
including account holders, shop members, buyers, and visitors. It supplements
the Terms of Service and the Privacy Policy. Capitalized
terms not defined here have the meanings given in the Terms.
By using the Platform, you agree to follow this AUP. We may suspend or terminate access for any violation, with or without notice.
1. Compliance with applicable law
You are solely responsible for compliance with all federal, state, and local laws that govern your activity on or through the Platform. This includes — without limitation — laws relating to firearms, ammunition, magazines, suppressors, optics, NFA-controlled items, age, residency, identity verification, background checks, transfers, shipping, and import/export.
ArmorY is not a federal firearms licensee, escrow service, payment processor, or shipping carrier, and does not verify any party's eligibility to acquire, possess, or transfer any firearm or related item. [REVIEW]
If your activity on the Platform is unlawful in your jurisdiction, you must not engage in it through the Platform.
2. What you must not do
You agree not to use the Platform to:
- List, offer, or solicit any item or service whose sale, transfer, or possession would be unlawful under applicable law in any jurisdiction relevant to either party.
- List, offer, or solicit prohibited items, including (but not limited
to):
- machine guns or other items prohibited under federal law for civilian possession,
- "ghost gun" parts kits, unfinished receivers, auto-sear devices, or other items intended to facilitate unlawful manufacture,
- explosives, destructive devices, or items requiring an ATF destructive- device classification, except where lawful and properly licensed,
- stolen property, replicas misrepresented as genuine, or items with altered, removed, or obliterated serial numbers, [REVIEW]
- items the operator has, in its sole discretion, determined are incompatible with the Platform.
- Bypass any required transfer step. Every transfer that requires an FFL must go through one. The Platform's role ends when two users start communicating; from that point forward, compliance is yours.
- Misrepresent yourself, your inventory, or any item. This includes false condition statements, falsified provenance, falsified receipts, stolen photos, and impersonation of another seller, shop, or person.
- Harass, threaten, or abuse other users. The platform's communication tools are for negotiating sales in good faith — not for threats, slurs, doxxing, or coordinated harassment.
- Solicit transactions outside the Platform's intended flow in a way that bypasses safety affordances (e.g., directing a buyer to send funds before any FFL confirmation; using ArmorY only to harvest contact information for off-platform scams).
- Operate at scale without a shop. If you are running a commercial firearms business — that is, repetitive, profit-motivated sale activity — you must use a shop account and comply with all applicable licensing. Personal-collection accounts are not for commercial use.
- Abuse the Platform's technical surface. No automated scraping that bypasses rate limits, no exploitation of vulnerabilities, no denial-of-service activity, no probing other users' accounts, no use of the Platform to host malware or phishing content.
- Use the Platform to violate intellectual-property rights. Don't post photos, copy, or trademarked materials you don't have the right to use.
- Circumvent moderation. Don't create new accounts to evade a suspension; don't recruit accounts to rate-bomb a shop or buyer.
3. Verification and identity
ArmorY does not verify identity, age, or eligibility. [REVIEW] Both parties to a transaction are responsible for confirming each other's identity and lawful eligibility. We may, at our discretion, ask for documentation to resolve a dispute or to investigate a suspected violation of this AUP — but we make no guarantee that any user is who they claim to be.
4. Reporting violations
If you see a listing, message, or account that violates this AUP, report it
to <<[email protected]>>. Include URLs, screenshots, and any
context. We do not guarantee a response timeline, but we read every report.
We reserve the right — but not the obligation — to remove content, suspend accounts, and cooperate with law-enforcement requests where appropriate. [REVIEW]
5. Enforcement
We may, in our sole discretion and without notice:
- remove or hide listings, messages, photos, or accounts;
- suspend or terminate access to all or part of the Platform;
- preserve or disclose information when we believe it is required by law, necessary to enforce our policies, or necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of ArmorY, our users, or the public.
Termination does not by itself relieve you of obligations incurred before termination, including obligations to other users you have transacted with.
6. Updates to this policy
We may update this AUP from time to time. Material changes will be posted here, and active accounts will be notified by email at least 14 days before the change takes effect, unless the change is required by law or necessary for security.
